Why did’t he just say something less harsh than "I think you should apologize. I don’t want to hear any excuses. " And he also stated this:

That’s why I stepped in. I don’t think that they stated anything negative and maybe I should try and explain what I mean by that. On the first reading, I thought Andrew was too harsh. Now on reading it once more, I see only this being too harsh “I don’t want to hear any excuses.” But I understand it
women are not politics, trans people are not politics.
Someone looking to make social connections with similar people is not politics.
If you want to avoid politics you should be on the other side of this conflict. Otherwise, its just hypocrisy.

I feel really sad seeing these things happening in the world.
The country I’m in is adopting a ‘pendulum-style fairness’ in an attempt to balance things out, but what I see is that different groups are becoming more divided, society is tearing apart, and it’s getting harder for people to communicate with each other. I believe that even without using ‘pendulum-style fairness,’ but instead true fairness, we could still effectively ease these situations.

I would like to express support to OP and all women and trans people here. It is unbelievable what this thread has been spun into by people who have nothing to do with the topic at hand.
To add to this, if I may: This is a targeted post, as are all posts here on Ziggit. If one is “uncomfortable” with a thread, or is otherwise uninterested in it, there is this little bell button on the right that allows one to Mute it. No need to engage with a thread that has nothing to do with you.
That applies to all threads here. I often see even Zig/programming-related discussions here that I personally feel are fruitless and don’t think are worth discussing. The correct course of action is not to hijack the thread, but just MUTE IT and let people who want to discuss it, discuss it. Zero reason for this particular thread to be any different in that regard.

What the fuck waking up to 35+ messages in this topic which aren’t on topic, people after recent discussions I had expected better of the community. And before I got to sleep I thought people had wised up, apparently not.
If you want to discuss site policy I suggest you open a private topic with the moderators, otherwise go take a hike and chop some wood to clear your mind. I like how Andrew said it, read the room.
This was an innocent topic of people looking to connect, not being a part of a sub group doesn’t mean you have to inject yourself and turn it into a debate of social conflicts.
We will certainly take a look at this mess internally and see what to do about it going forward,
for now I will ask everyone who thinks this is a political discussion to leave it.
I will try to sort out this mess, give me a moment.

I’m really sorry for causing this kind of debate. My thoughts might be a bit hard to understand, but if I were an admin and saw a post asking to find cisgender men on the forum to chat with, I would probably lock it almost immediately. But to be fair, I think all discussions based on gender like that shouldn’t happen. It seems like a lot of people think differently from me, but what frustrates me is getting some criticism about my personal character.

I sincerely apologize for the harm I caused to other members here.
After calming down and reflecting, I realize that my previous behavior was a complete mess. Even though I might have had different views on such discussions if I were an admin, I’m not an admin, so my comments were really overstepping. And even if I did have opinions about how gender discussions are managed here, I should have submitted them in a separate feedback section of the site instead of hijacking this post.
I’m gradually understanding why my discussion might be seen as an ‘attack.’ Although I don’t think I was actually personally attacking anyone, my points were off-topic for this post, and just being here was already intrusive. If I wanted to express them, it should have been in other threads, not here.
My response might still be a kind of pollution for this space, and maybe an admin should move it to another locked thread, but I hope the people in this thread can see my apology.
