Maybe this is a cursed idea, but I wanted to see if I could us the build system to place my dotfiles in the right spots. We can specify a prefix at build time, that means we can have the install step place all the install artifacts in the prefix directory.
So I tried it out, and had to do some build system shenanigans, but it works! I can even selectively populate specific program config files.
