As someone currently at the tail end of my bachelor’s who is also deeply interested in compilers and programming language development, I’ve been noticing the lack of many internships that focus on these areas of the field and was wondering if the ZSF would ever consider entering that area.
I could see it structured similarly to google summer of code (maybe even just a project through GSOC). The main advantage it could have as opposed to the traditional contributor pipeline is a more focused/structured onboarding process while also allowing some lower priority or experimental work to be thoroughly worked on for a summer or longer.
I’ll be going into my senior year and therefore this wouldn’t really apply to me, it’s just something I think would be neat and mutually beneficial to students and the foundation. Curious to hear your thoughts
