Software Should Work 2026 Conference

I came across this conference Ziguanas could be interested in, the speaker line up seems pretty rad.

Zig-related speakers:

  • Andrew Kelley - could that be… the creator of Zig speaking?
  • Richard Feldman - Creator of Roc, transitioned the Roc compiler from Rust to Zig
  • Filip Pizlo - creator of Fil-C, not really Zig-related, but Fil-C’s optimized calling convention was discussed here

I’ve highligted them since we’re on Ziggit, but other speakers are also pretty interesting. Interested to learn more about the talks and hopefully there’ll be a way to catch those talks remotely.

Wow, add Richard Hipp (SQLite) and Carson Gross (HTMX) to that list of luminaries! I wish I could attend.

I would be happy to visit Macau (country code MO) for this, but this seems to be somewhere in the USA. So I’ll skip this one for now (maybe in 2½ years).

Hopefully.

Interesting to see a TLA+ speaker there.

Speaker list now expanded to include Delaney representing the Datastar project.

Datastar allows you to build web facing apps where the UI interactions are driven from the backend, in whatever language you want, using the CQRS pattern.

There is comprehensive support for Zig, with SDKs that cover both latest Io, 3rd party async such as zio, and older pre-Io versions of zig as well.

Just realized the schedule (below the break on the main site) has been updated to include talk names + abstracts! That must have happened in the last couple days. There’s a good amount of TBAs still, but mentioning it incase anyone else had been waiting to see the topics.

I’ll be attending this conference! Very excited for it.
