Prime (tentatively) begins a year of Zig

I was introduced to Zig (and consequently systems programming) by Prime, so honestly I thought he had already done a year of Zig. I’m super hyped to see some more zig content out there. Hopefully it translates to some more donations to ZSF.

Nice! I also discovered Zig thanks to Prime a while back, happy to see this!

Same, though not directly by his talking about Zig, but because of his advocating to explore new languages. I was a bit stagnant in what languages I chose to ever use, and was about to start a new project, so took his advice to adopt a new language for it as a learning process. I ended up choosing Zig and fell in love with it.

I have since explored some other languages, I try to keep the same practice of learning new languages, but Zig is one that I am definitely sticking with as a “favorite” when given the choice of which language to use.

Same here, Honestly I know we are supposed to choose the right tool for the job, but Zig is such a joy to program in that, I often have a hard time making rational decisions on what to use.

I hear you. Zig has a world-class my-brain-to-code interface, and that’s a killer feature as far as I’m concerned.

It really does, the fact that there is very often only one obvious way to do everything kinds of remove that perfection paralysis for me, I just feel more productive than in C because I have more control, and help from the language.
