Hi there !
This story began with half a dozen abandoned Shogi engines at various stages of development: first in C++, then in Go, and finally with an attempt in Zig, which I gave up on a year ago.
But this time, I decided to make life easier for myself with a game that fits within 64 bits.
And so, a few months ago, I start to write my first UCI chess engine ahcaira that I made public today.
I test it against a weak opponent (MinimalChessEngine-0.2.1, estimated at 886 Elo) and it seems a little better.
Happy to get feedback.
My next step will be either upgrade to Zig 0.15 and passing writergate or implementing transposition table.
