# Closing down the Zig stockholm meetup

Hi,

I organized the Zig Stockholm Meetup a few years ago, but since I got kids it hasn’t really been possible. I’m not keen on keeping the meetup live anymore since I don’t use it and it costs money, but if someone wants to start hosting it again and have 143 people potentially interested in the topic, let me know and I can transfer ownership. Otherwise I will close it in a few days.

One thing you could do is send out a goodbye email to subscribers pointing them at Zig Day Stockholm [https://zig.day/europe/stockholm/](https://zig.day/europe/stockholm/).

In general I think that going forward organizers will be less likely to want to keep using [meetup.com](http://meetup.com) (even setting aside zig.day, [luma.com](http://luma.com) is free), but of course don’t let me stop you if anybody wants to take over.

I’ve been planning to create a Zig meetup group for Oslo after summer, wouldn’t mind taking a Zig group that’s close enough and keeping its history if you are willing.
